advisory sprint · 2–4 weeks
Understand the real problem
and the conditions for moving forward
Before investing further in AI, establish what needs to change and whether the organisation has the foundations to support it. This Sprint combines focused discovery with an evidence-based assessment of readiness and constraints.

Outcome
Define the problem
the decision it helps you make
What is the real transformation problem, how ready is the organisation, and what must happen next?
When it is useful
The ambition is clearer than the problem definition. Systems and information are fragmented, ownership is uncertain, or earlier technology initiatives have not resolved the operating issue.
How we keep the work focused
At the start, we review the candidate executive decisions with the sponsor and select one primary agenda with its related questions. Where priorities are unrelated, we agree separate routes rather than promise to resolve them all within one Sprint.
What we examine
- The current decisions, workflows, stakeholders and consequences.
- The information, systems and organisational conditions shaping the problem.
- Readiness across data, technology, people, operating practices and governance.
- Dependencies, risks and foundational changes needed before further investment.
What you take away
A clear problem definition and discovery findings, an evidence-based readiness and constraints profile, an executive findings summary, and a 30–90 day action agenda. Recommendations identify the actions, owners, dependencies and evidence needed next.
Typical duration and your involvement
2–4 weeks. The client provides an authorised sponsor, participating operating owners and access to agreed evidence. Focused interviews, working sessions and an executive readout support the analysis. Scope and access assumptions are agreed before work begins.
What happens next
Leadership may address foundational gaps, examine investment opportunities, narrow the problem or pause. The Sprint does not prioritise a full investment portfolio, certify readiness or commit the organisation to implementation.
